The Black Widow started as an 1994 YJ. After first removing the fenders so that the custom tube fenders could be installed. Then the front axle was removed so that the custom coil sliders could be welded into place. Using the same leaf spring mounts and a custom 3 link/wishbone and a set of 4" XJ coils, the front axle was stretched 12" using the D44 high pinion from a 79' ford pretty well sums up the front suspension. The rear frame section was cut out so that the tube frame could be built. Know the rear is set up the same as the front using only the stock XJ coils. The wheelbase is 122". In the rear a 9" ford is used. The axles are both stuffed with 5:43's with a spool in the front and the rear is welded. Then the cage was built for safety issues Next the power plant, a 88' 4.0 liter .030, mated to the automatic transmission and a NP 242 J transfer. The drive shafts was both self made. The front is made from square tubing for more travel and more durable. The rear was built to the desired length. The tire of choice was the 38.5x15x15 Boggers which was mounted on a set of black Bart beadlock wheels. The interior is not complete yet, some sheet metal work and racing seats are still to come.
